Real-Time Impact Assessment

From PKSF, we participated in the Virtual GCF-IEU Learning-Oriented Real-Time Impact Assessment (LORTA) Workshop from September 28 to November 16, 2020, organized by the Independent Evaluation Unit (IEU) of the Green Climate Fund (GCF). Over 65 people from 16 different countries from Asia, Africa, and South America, representing 16 GCF projects, attended the workshop. As per IEU’s feedback report, the feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive and many have asked for more of these capacity-building workshops to be held in the future. GCF-funded PKSF’s project “SAP008: Extended Community Climate Change Project-Flood (ECCCP-Flood)” contributed well to the LORTA program.

Welcome notes My name is AKM Nuruzzman. I have 25 years of professional experience implementing donor-funded activities to advance economic policy reform, and poverty alleviation and social mobilization and inclusion initiatives; working collaboratively with the government of Bangladesh at various levels, international donors,  e.g., EU, DFID, AusAID, World Bank, IFAD, GCF, ADB, SDC, JICA and civil-society organisations; working with vulnerable populations to support the creation of jobs and incomes, particularly connecting extremely poor people to markets and employment opportunities, building productive capabilities and capacity; working on climate adaptation and disaster management; integrating gender equality and women's empowerment issues; and excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills and demonstrated leadership ability to work with diverse individuals and groups. আব্বা-আম্মা

আমাদের আব্বা-আম্মা বেঁচে নেই। আজ বাবার ২৩-তম মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী, গতকাল ছিলো মা-র তৃতীয় মৃত্যুবার্ষিকী। আমাদের মা, ২ ফেব্রেুয়ারি, ২০২০ সালে ইহলোক ত্যাগ করেন। আর আমাদের বাবা, ডা. মো: ইয়াকুব আলী, না ফেরার দেশে চলে যান ৩ ফেব্রেুয়ারি, ২০০০ সালে। আজ মা-বাবা আমাদের মাঝে নেই। এ জীবনে আমাদের ডাকে তাঁরা আর কোনদিন সাঁড়া দেবেন না। তবুও বলি, আব্বা-আম্মা, আপনারা আমাদের জীবনে রয়েছেন প্রতিদিন, আমাদের জন্য দোয়া করবেন, আমাদের ভুলক্রটি ক্ষমা করে দিবেন। মা-বাবা বিহীন এ জীবন অতি কষ্ঠের, অব্যক্ত বেদনায় ভরা। কত স্মৃতি তাঁদের সাথে। একটু আগে টেলিভিশনে জাতীয়তাবাদের বিষয়ে আলোচনা হচ্ছিল। আমার মা প্রায়ই এ বিষয়ে একটি উদাহরণ ব্যবহার করতেন। তিনি বলতেন, তার শৈশবকালে যখন ভারত বর্ ব্রিটিশ উপনিবেশ ছিল তখন তারা রানী ভিক্টোরিয়ার গুণগান গেয়ে স্কুল শুরু করতেন। তার যখন যৌবনকাল তখন ভারত বর্ষ দুভাগ হয়েছে, একাংশ ভারত অন্য অংশ পাকিস্তান। বর্তমান বাংলাদেশ তখন পূর্ব পাকিস্তান। তখন তিনি যেকোনো আনুষ্ঠানিক আয়োজনে পাকিস্তানের জাতীয় সংগীত শুনতেন। আর শেষ বয়সে বাংলাদেশ ছিল তাঁর মনে। প্রায়শ প্রশ্ন করতেন, কোন জাতীয়তাবাদের ধারক তিনি। What is the
